Where would be the cheapest way to do this? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070405194252AAtNXGr http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070405194252AAtNXGr Fri, 06 Apr 2007 02:42:52 GMT My license has been suspended for the last 6 months. I Need a license to get to work and the DUI programs that I have to do. I got a paper from the DMV saying i could apply for one, and what i would need would be sr22 and proof of liability. Do i need to have insurance to have sr22? What if i dont own a vehicle? I need to purchase a vehicle, but I would need a license to buy a car, how would i be able to do this? Someone told me I could get a motorcycle sr22 just to get my license out of its suspension, and then simply keep that one and just "borrow" a car from my dad or so. Can anyone help me out with this issue. - Open Question: What does SR22 mean? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070404162606AAJ4Fh2 http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070404162606AAJ4Fh2 Wed, 04 Apr 2007 23:26:06 GMT I have to renew my license. I was pulled over a few weeks ago when I didn't have my headlights on and my license was expired and so was my auto insurance. I called to reinstate my insurance and we will be making a trip over there to make the down payment tomorrow. I was in a rush with my youngest but the lady from the insurance company mentioned that I will need an SR22 form. What exactly does that mean? Will this slow down the reinstatement process? I have court the end of next week and I read somewhere that it takes approx 30 days for the forms to go through the Sec of State. I need proof of ins by my court date. Well his first wife left him like 2 months before his SR22 was up and cancelled the insurance on him. They automatically suspened his license unknown to him. He got pulled over in KS in 95 for speeding and they said his license was suspeneded....took him to jail and took his VA license. A year later he was driving my car..is was messing up bad and he got stopped again and taken to jail for suspened license. Ok so now the state of VA has declared him a habitual offeneder. He hasn't had anything on his record since 95-96. I won't let him drive any since that last incident but my question is when will he be able to just go to the DMV and get a license? He's tried every few years only to get run around as to why he can't but no one will let us know what we can do for him to get his license back. The first conviction was in VA...the last 2 were in KS....we now live in TN. - Voting Question: Minor DUI in Washington, suspension sr22 question? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070401130314AAVktAQ http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070401130314AAVktAQ Sun, 01 Apr 2007 20:03:14 GMT ok well, the 90 day suspension for my license is over and the case was dissmissed and closed. Suspended license for no proof of insurance cited in AZ, however residing in CA http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070322184121AAaVWnk http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070322184121AAaVWnk Fri, 23 Mar 2007 01:41:21 GMT Ah, any help is greatly appreciated. I had 2 tickets that suspended my license (one was a minor speeding ticket and seatbelt ticket) in California. I had not known my license was suspended and got pulled over in the state of Arizona. I have called the California courts about those 2 tickets and will shortly plead guilty and start paying the fines. Granted -- I was cited for no proof of insurance and driving on suspended FTA in Arizona, which I could not prove on the insurance and it was a mandatory 3 month suspended without any hardship license? I pleaded with the judge as I work for transportation departments in the traffic calming programs that provides traffic data for school zones in effort of providing city traffic engineers the information! Good guy of all good guys!! With a good driving record! And she said "No". Very small town judge too. Will California see this any differently and generally asking, is there anything I can do? Bear it in mind filing sr22 and paying tickets Hardship license being a work permitted license to go only to and from work. More so a 'permit' It appears that people who had no insurance and was in an accident or DUI seems to get a work permit so that is what stems my question. Such a light offense, and the judge was just very brief w/me concerning the topic. - Resolved Question: Do you get points on your driving record for a non-driving related suspended license? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070315124732AARCChQ http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070315124732AARCChQ Thu, 15 Mar 2007 19:47:32 GMT My daughter just turned 21 but a couple of months before her birthday, she got an MIP (minor in possession) ticket while visiting friends at an out of town college. We are in California and so is the college but the court would only allow her to to take an alcohol/substance abuse class in their jurisdition which because of work, she couldn't do. (Santa Barbara Court suspends your license unless you take their class). So, she received a mandatory 1 year suspension of her license. The ticket did not involve driving whatsoever. The judge gave her a provisional, to drive to and from work. Question is, will she have points on her DMV record? She was not required to get an SR22 so insurance won't know about the suspention until she comes up for renewal several months from now? Will this affect her insurance rates? - Resolved Question: no license? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070307174654AADpZH7 http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070307174654AADpZH7 Thu, 08 Mar 2007 01:46:54 GMT If i was pulled over by the police and had valid registration and insurance and sr22 but no drivers license, could they sttill impound my car? - Voting Question: What is an SR22? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070307172317AAlo9ht http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070307172317AAlo9ht Thu, 08 Mar 2007 01:23:17 GMT I had a DUI 6 years ago and was required to get a SR22, but i still don't have a license so what good is the SR22? - Resolved Question: I need to rent a car, what should I do? They were told they needed to pay a fine to get it reinstated, but after they paid, got a letter saying they needed to send a form SR22 as proof of insurance. All of the websites we've tried need a license number and vehicle to create a quote. My friend needs insurance to get a license; needs a license and/or a vehicle to get insurance; needs insurance and a license to get a vehicle registered and tagged in this state; and cannot buy a vehicle until they can get it promptly tagged, registered, and insured to avoid further legal issues. Does anyone know the best way to go about clearing this whole mess up without creating additional problems, so I can give my friend some piece of mind until they can get hold of an insurance agent? Just recently I was arrensted for driving with a suspended license (which I was unaware of). I bonded out and have taken the steps to get my license reinstated, filing SR22, paying DPS fees, etc.., and I found out the DWSL is a class b misd. I called and left a messege to my probation officer to let her know what happened but she never returned my call. What worries me is today is my monthly meeting and I am scared if she is going to violate me. I was having a little hope she wouldn't for the reasons that she is actually a very understanding po, been paying on time and no failed UAs, I do my community service. And the offense was minor but what worries me is in the conditions it says do not break the law/catch new case. People have told me they have caught new cases (possesion, pi etc..) and their PO didn't violate. Is it up to the PO and the situation or are her hands tied and I will be violated? Any help would be a appreciated Ok obviously I am back and didn't go to jail. Well basically my PO told me that class B misdemeanors and up have to be reported to the courts. Class C doesn't have to be reported and it is up the PO. Fortunately for me I am up to date on all fees and court requirements. She reported it to the court but stated that I have no issues and the court said it will take no action on the charge. So now I just have to deal with the DWSL charge which I am not as worried about as I was with being violated. So for all people on probation...stay up to date on everything so if any issue ever arises your probation officer can work for you to keep you out of jail. - Resolved Question: Which state should we buy a sr22 bond? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070112131424AAp3jab http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20070112131424AAp3jab Fri, 12 Jan 2007 21:14:24 GMT My son had his license suspended in Ohio. Now my license will be suspended, and I need it reinstated. About a month ago I spoke to a woman at the DMV who told me that I could pay the fees and be restricted to driving only in California (where I live). I am a full time student with a part time job, so this was a huge weight off my shoulders.. But today I called to see if my SR22 form had been received by the DMV (proving I now have insurance), and a new woman told me that it has, but that I can only drive -to and from work- under the restricted license for a year after paying all of my fees. Why is it that I was told two different things..is there any way to get around this legally? I think it is ridiculous that one can drive to ..say mcdonalds for work, but not drive to receive higher education with a restricted license. I need to be able to drive!!! I have gone every three months to try and obtain my driver's license/permit and every time the DMV tells me that I can't get it without SR22 Insurance. So I go to all my local and online Ins Companies, and they tell me, without a car, it will be at least $400 per month, and it must be for one full year, before it would go down. I can't purchase a car without my driver's license and insurance. Unless someone knows another way around this, my only option is to find someone who would put my name on the title of their car, which ain't gonna happen. Sorry, Ins Advisor, I have to list a vehicle, which I don't have. BrownTown, In the State of Alaska, you must have your driver's license with insurance. The problem is, if you don't own a vehicle, the insurance companies charge an arm and a leg. I am 25, I had a car accident in 2000. I've been pulled over for speeding twice, and I have to have a SR22 to obtain my license. I can't afford $400 or something a month for SR22. To purchase a vehicle in the state of alaska from a dealership, you must provide insurance and a driver's license. Now does everyone see my problem? - Resolved Question: Does anyone know anything about AA Classes? http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060713202629AAcL6xP http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20060713202629AAcL6xP Fri, 14 Jul 2006 03:26:29 GMT My kid's father has gotten a DUI and his accident envolved a girl breaking her back.
